About Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association
The Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA) was founded in 1984 by a group of successful and enthusiastic local fashion designers. As a non-profit making and self-financed organization, it aims to unite fashion designers, with both professionalism and expertise, to develop and better both their careers and the industry within and beyond the territory.
With supports from the industry and fellow designers in the past 32 years, the Association has evolved to a key platform to share ideas and experiences through organizing fashion events such as catwalk shows, seminars, interviews and group discussions. Reputed not only as an official unit of Hong Kong fashion elites who provides excellent services with expertise and hence is recognized as one of the leading fashion institutions in the region of Hong Kong SAR, Mainland China and other cities in the South Pacific region.
Highly applauded by the public and media, the 2 most renowned and recognized annual events held by HKFDA are TEN BEST DRESSED PERSONALITIES AWARD and THE GALA FASHION SHOW.
Special events such as the “Fashion Visionaries” 2010 in Shanghai, is one of the highlights of the HKSAR program for the World Expo 2010, Shanghai, It showcased the history, development, and influence of HK fashion industry from both commercial and academic aspect. Other than fashion pieces, exhibits include couture pieces created by art and image directors and designs for award winning movies and stars, and etc.
The success of the “Fashion Visionaries” 2010 continues in 2011 at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum from 5 November 2011 to 12 March 2012, sponsored by CreateHK, where the “Fashion Visionaries” Awards is presented, and the annual show of HKFDA is featured with signature works of over 30 Hong Kong fashion designers. In 2012, the Association co-organized “The World’s Greatest Catwalk 2012” with the Danish Fashion Institute, over 343 models have presented showpieces from more than 150 HK & Danish fashion designers in which the event has achieved a Guinness World Records of “The Most Models in the Fashion Show”. In 2016, HKFDA organized the “UNZIP Creativity Hong Kong Fashion in Taipei 2016” event at Taipei Huashan 1914 Creative Park which is a remarkable opening of the first-ever experience exchange and showcase of HK fashion in Taiwan.
As of the 20th Anniversary of HK’s Return to the Motherland, HKFDA is invited to curate a fashion catwalk in the Grand Variety Show on 30th June, 2017.
關於香港時裝設計師協會
香港時裝設計師協會(協會)成立於1984年，是一個屬於自負盈虧的非弁利機構。其創辦人均是成就出眾的資深時裝設計師，不但對時裝設計充滿熱誠並付于力行，為推動本地時裝設計而創辦本協會；藉此凝聚時裝界精英，發揮業界力量。協會自創辦至今已三十二載，承蒙業界和設計師的支持得以不斷成長和進步。
過去多年，在業界和設計師會員的支持下，協會已發展成為一個重要平臺，每年均舉辦各類時裝表演活動、專業講座、設計師專訪、和研討會等，讓業界和設計師分享資訊和經驗。協會不僅代表著一群提供專業優質服務的香港時裝界精英，更積極與不同機構和團隊攜手合作推動業界發展，因此被公認香港具領導地位的時裝機構之一，與其他主要機構和團體攜手推動設計業。與此同時，協會在中國和亞太區亦肩負推動香港時裝設計的任務，從而協助、成就本土時裝設計師于本土與海外的發展。
其中為人津津樂道的協會盛事，首選「香港傑出衣著人士選舉」及「周年時裝匯演」，不但盛況空前，且象徵本土時裝精英向業界的周年敬禮。
協會於2010年上海舉行的「香港．時裝視野」展覽，為香港特區政府在上海世界博覽會的其中一項重點活動之一，是次展覽內容包括香港時裝的發展歷史、成就及前景，涵蓋了時裝工業界及學術界等的成就。另外亦有展出由香港美術及形象指導為電影及影星度身設計之衣飾 。
上海世博舉行之展覽獲得空前成功，協會獲得商務及經濟發展局其下之創意香港贊助，將「香港．時裝視野」展覽移師至香港文化博物館舉行。開幕典禮之同時，協會更頒發「傑出時裝視野」獎項，及舉辨周年匯演，超過 30位元設計師會員會展出特別為活動主題設計及製作的時裝作品。
2012年再度獲創意香港之邀，攜手丹麥時裝協會舉辦「世界時尚天橋之最2012」，邀請了超340位模特兒參與展示了逾200位香港及丹麥設計師之設計服飾，更刷新了世界吉尼斯記錄，成為國際時尚界熱話。
2016年創意香港繼續贊助本會，為貿發局舉辦之全新時裝業界推廣專案「CENTRE STAGE」舉辦一場大型匯演，展示了50位元本地設計師之精彩作品。同年，協會更代表香港時裝業界，於臺北舉行之「香港周」舉辦為期一個月之「香港時裝風尚．臺北2016」大型展覽，帶領超過60位香港設計師于臺北華山創意園區上演華麗的時裝匯演及舉行「傑出時裝視野」頒獎禮，星光熠熠盛況空前。
今年6月30日舉行之「慶祝香港回歸祖國二十周年文藝晚會」，協會更獲邀為晚會策劃時裝表演，邀請了10位時裝設計師精心打造華麗與藝術俱備的服飾，上演了一場以時裝來展現香港文化特色的演出，獲得各界熱烈讚賞。
JUXTAPOSED Fashion x Music 2017
The fashion design talents of Hong Kong has long been recognized as one of the most sophisticated around Asia. It is one of the most important and celebrated design industry, with both renowned and emerging talents selling their collections locally and abroad. Fashion can be an expression that speaks and represents different arts and cultures. Music is another universal language that connects people of all interests, cultures and diversities, it is obvious that Fashion and Music are closely linked as a way to individualism and a form of art.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, JUXTAPOSED Fashion X Music 2017 is sponsored by CreateHK under the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau. JUXTAPOSED aims to further fuse and combine the two, placing them side by side in comparison and contrast, to cross inspire and to spark both industries and their creative talents. Outfits that are specially made for this from 80 Hong Kong fashion designers will parade in a show together with live music by various artists, singers, bands and music performers to an evening of fashion, music and lighting celebration.
A 90 minutes show on a weekend evening will provide the public a free celebratory program of style and culture. JUXTAPOSED will invite music performers from both HK and overseas covering different genres of music, (e.g. Rock, pop classical, new romantics, hip hop and reggae), the fashion show will be thematically choreographed along these different genres, creating a most influential and stimulating collaboration of fashion and music.
香港時裝設計人才長期以來一直被公認為亞洲最具前瞻性之一。它是最重要和最著名的設計行業之一，不少著名及新晉設計師之系列均暢銷國內外市場。時尚可以是一種表達方式，展現不同藝術和文化的表達﹔而音樂被喻為是世界共通語言，能夠連接所有不同興趣，文化和多樣性的人，顯而易見的是，時尚與音樂與個人主義和藝術形式緊密相連。
為慶祝香港特別行政區成立20周年，香港時裝設計師協會(協會)很榮幸獲得商務及經濟發展局其下之創意香港贊助，於10月14日假金鐘添馬公園舉辦大型活動「JUXTAPOSED 時尚x音樂2017」。是次活動旨在進一步將時裝與音樂融匯結合，相互並排比較與對比，啟發之餘也激發兩行業及其創意人才。屆時80位香港時裝設計師將與多位元歌手及音樂人合作，在精彩的現場音樂與燈光效果演出中展現其精心設計的服飾。
一個週末晚上的90分鐘精彩免費表演，將為公眾展現一個別極具風格與充滿文化色彩的慶祝活動。JUXTAPOSED將邀請來自香港和海外的音樂表演者參與不同類型的音樂演出（如搖滾，流行經典，新浪漫，嘻哈和雷鬼），時裝匯演將按照不同的感覺與氛圍進行主題編排，創造最具影響力及刺激性的時尚與音樂跨界合作。JUXTAPOSED時尚x音樂將探索和慶祝時尚與音樂之間的關係，激發設計人才，進一步樹立香港文化和設計創意的興趣和意識。這肯定是一個值得注意和夢幻般的合作，真正慶祝香港的風格和文化。
